welcome to StridingEdge.com

We’re continuing to update our product range – at the moment producing re-mastered versions of the classic BBC Wainwright programmes – Lakeland and North Country, Wainwright’s Scotland and the Wainwright Coast to Coast walk which will now have selectable sub titles. It’s some years since I’ve watched those programmes all the way through and although they were produced almost 20 years ago, I must say they haven’t dated at all. They’re still a fine insight into the life and work of the man who inspired tens of thousands of people to explore the Lake District mountains. If you’ve worn out your VHS versions why not treat yourself to the better picture quality of DVD.
Striding Edge also has a busy production schedule this year with a new Great Walks that I’m going to be presenting in the Borrowdale Valley and with Cameron MacNeish tackling the Via Ferrata at Honister. There’s also a new series of Out of Town and both of those will be available on DVD the second half of the year.
Responding to requests from some of our regular customers we've embarked on filming the Cumbria Way as another of our great walks. For those who don't know it, the 72 mile route from Ulverston to Carlisle through the Lakeland valleys was devised by members of the Ramblers Association 30 years ago. It should be available on DVD in late summer.
2008 marks the 75th anniversary of Mountain Rescue and in recognition of
their hard work and dedication we’re going to be giving 50p for every
on line order received in February, March and April to our local, Wasdale,
mountain rescue team.
So enjoy exploring this on line catalogue which arrives with you via cyberspace from what’s now officially the best view in Britain. Of course we’ve known that for years but it’s nice that the rest of Britain has now caught up.
As ever, if you’ve any queries or suggestions just ring Annette on 0800 027 25 27. or email.
