Product Description

The success of the Pictorial Guides to the Lakeland Fells inspired Alfred Wainwright to write a guidebook to another of his favourite landscapes: the Howgill Fells, north of Sedbergh.

A companion to Walks in Limestone Country it remained in print for 30 years and, like his other guidebooks, was in need of revision. In 2003, Chris Jesty began a comprehensive review of all of Wainwright’s guidebooks, walking the routes and updating the maps and written descriptions, where necessary.

The Wainwright Society re-published the book in April 2022.
